Vendios enforces a strict, multi-step verbal consent process before any SMS communication is permitted between a sales representative and a contact. This page documents that process for compliance and transparency purposes. All contact information shown below is fictitious and used for demonstration purposes only.
Step 1: SMS is Locked by Default
The SMS feature is unavailable for every contact by default. A sales representative cannot send a text message to any contact until the system confirms that verbal consent has been explicitly granted. Any attempt to circumvent this restriction is a direct violation of Vendios' Terms of Service.
Step 2: A Call Must Be Placed First
Before SMS is unlocked, the sales representative must place a call to the contact directly through the Vendios app. The call is automatically logged with a timestamp, duration, and transcript.

Step 3: Verbal Consent is Requested During the Call
During the call, the representative asks the contact for explicit permission to send SMS messages:
Step 4: AI Analyzes the Call for Consent
After the call ends, Vendios automatically sends the call transcript to an AI system. The AI analyzes the conversation to determine two things: (1) whether the contact was asked for permission to receive SMS messages, and (2) whether the contact explicitly granted that permission. The result is displayed as an AI Summary on the call record.
Step 5: Consent is Stored in NetSuite
If and only if the AI confirms that consent was both requested and granted, a consent field within NetSuite is updated to reflect that SMS permission has been granted for that contact. This field is read-only for standard users and cannot be manually edited to circumvent the consent process. Doing so is a material violation of Vendios' Terms of Service.
Step 6: SMS is Now Available
Only after the NetSuite consent field is confirmed does the SMS feature become available for that contact. All messages are composed and sent individually by the human sales representative. No automated, bulk, or pre-scheduled messaging occurs.
